Hello!
My name is Cassie Jansen, and this blog is for elementary music teachers that are looking for fresh ideas, teaching strategies, and the occasional funny story (most likely at my expense)!?
My Story
Let's be honest. No one cares about where I grew up or probably even where I went to college. Unless you are my mom, (who might possibly be the only person to read this section!?), so I'll keep it short and sweet.

I have been teaching elementary music in my hometown school district (Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton) in MN since 2010. From my roots as a percussionist (*roots... see what I did there?) to my undergraduate and masters degrees at MSUM, I love all things elementary music and my teaching heavily reflects my Kodaly training.
I am a wife and mother to three kids: Gidget, Brewer, and Dottie. Twins. What a trip!? When I'm not maintaining my immaculate home or cooking elaborate, made from scratch dinners... ok. I had a feeling you weren't going to buy that. Life is crazy. But I love it. And when I can, I teach Zumba and Aqua Zumba. My outlet!
